Course: Excavator 360°

Summary / Introduction

360° excavators are widely used throughout the land-based and construction industry, and are so named as they have the ability to revolve a full 360 degrees. They are versatile machines that can be used for a variety of different jobs, and in order that they operate efficiently and safely, the correct training is required.

Target Audience

Our refresher course is for anyone with experience who uses the 360° excavator weighing below 10 tonnes (tracked), in either land-based industries or the construction industry, and will provide you with the opportunity to practice and update your skills, and gain certification. The one day course will allow you to develop the skills and knowledge required in order to operate the machine in a safe and confident manner.

Description

Our experienced operator excavator 360° below 10 tonnes (tracked), integrated training and assessment course runs for one day, and our experienced instructors will guide you through the training to ensure you are updated on the key fundamentals of operating the 360° below 10 tonnes (tracked) excavator. Once you have completed and passed the course you will receive a certificate in training for Excavator 360° below 10 tonnes (tracked).

Product Objectives

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify the basic construction and components, and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges.
  • Identify and comply with manufacturer’s instructions in accordance with the operator’s handbook, other information sources and applicable legislation.
  • Carry out all pre-use and running checks.
  • Configure the excavator for site travel.
  • Travel the machine over varying types of terrain including rough undulating ground and substantial inclines.
  • Manoeuvre the excavator in confined areas.
  • Set the machine to excavate.
  • Excavate below ground level on a variety of excavations in different ground types.
  • Place spoil into various sizes of vehicles/hoppers.
  • Grade, spread and level different types of terrain.
  • Remove and re-attach buckets.
  • Place the machine in an out-of service condition.
  • Explain the loading and unloading procedures on and off a transporter.
